The Mistwood Canopy - A dense woodland of tall, straight trees fades into the morning mist. A brown carpet of last years leaves are the only evidence that summer was once a visitor here.

The Crucible of Winter- On the coldest of winter days serpentine trees twist and dance to meet the light, through a vanishing mist burnt thin by the morning sun.

The Sunbeam oak - A towering giant in full summer canopy, where a single shaft of light cuts the scene in two: bright and alive. with ethereal tones on the right, and cooling shade to the left

The Treasury - Autumn leaves shimmer like gold, scattering coins across the forest. Not all that glitters is gold. As this gold is made for the soul not the pocket

The Snowy Path - A quiet woodland path runs beneath snow-laden branches. Grey light filters through, promising yet more falls.

The Memory Tree - In the depths of the woods stands the memory tree, a simple offering tied to its trunk, and every year a new “I miss you” appears

A Place I Sit - Within an enclosed pine coppice, a hidden opening looks out onto the heathland. it’s a place for reflection, for breakfast, and to watch the weather change

The Ghost in the Woods - Some things in the woodland simply stand apart; none more so that a long-departed tree still standing resolute within a sheltered glade. At first light, when the mist drifts through, it almost calls to you across the crowded room of trees like a siren. Though it’s long gone, it has been fed by its companions for many years. The only unknown is just how many years.

My Year is Done - Autumn is a relatively short lived occasion; one day we’re celebrating the turning of the leaves, and the next we feel regret as the last ones fall and the trees slip into their suspended animation over winter. This oak is reletively young - perhaps forty years old - but with each year its stretch, breath and display will grow. It will become mighty, a marker for centuries to come. You are fortunate to witness it at the beginning of its long temporal journey, and with many hundred more autumns ahead.
